Client added a question again, I'm scrolling chat records

Tuesday at 3pm, the client slipped in a last-minute question, and I panicked digging through the records for a number.

I was sure they said "deliver Wednesday," but I swiped back and forth through hundreds of messages. The exhausting part of selling services isn't the workload — it's "I'm sure I confirmed it." Don't blame your memory; you've just got too many open threads at once.

Before reviewing Duo, I'll make a confirmation note

Disclosure first: I haven't used iPhone Duo. All I have is the title and the author's pitch — no price, features, or hands-on walkthrough. So this isn't a review, and I won't write imagined benefits as facts. Let's use a device-free method: a "this-confirmation" note.

Picture this — 10am last Saturday, shared office in Hangzhou, my buddy Xiaolin (alias) had two projects running at once. She wrote what to do / when to deliver / what's NOT included into her phone's built-in Notes, and screenshot the key chats. When the client followed up, she checked the list first, then verified against the original message. She said it felt like getting an extra calm desktop.

Do it today: 0 yuan, 15 minutes

I've been stuck here too: I used to dump screenshots into my photo album thinking "saved," but when I actually needed them, I was still lost. That step I got wrong. Now I only keep three lines: what to do, when to deliver, what's not included; then I send key versions to the client to reconfirm.

Cost: 0 yuan, using your phone's built-in features. Time: 15 minutes. Barrier: knowing how to copy-paste, no coding needed. First step: tap "Notes" on your home screen, tap "+" in the top-right corner, name it "Client name — This Confirmation." Practice on an already-closed order first — don't experiment on a project that's currently in dispute.

Pick based on how busy you are right now

If you're just starting out, I'll focus on those 1-2 clients first. If you have 1-2 clients, I'll keep one page per person and add a few lines every time I pause. If you're scaling up, I'll build a replicable confirmation checklist — but specific commitments still need client confirmation, templates can't replace conversation.

Not everyone needs this, and it may not suit you better than iPhone Duo. No rush to try now — wait until you're less busy. If you want, practice 15 minutes on an old order first; whether to spend money on a new device, decide after you've seen the features, price, and learning curve.
