What it is good for
- Bulk stylized illustration, concept art or cover images, generated by hand in Discord or on the web
- Individuals or small teams who want a flat monthly image budget instead of per-call API billing
How it bills
Billed as a monthly or annual subscription, metered in GPU time rather than per image or per video token: higher tiers get more Fast GPU hours per month plus higher-resolution video and stealth mode. Extra Fast GPU time beyond the plan can be bought at $4/hour.

Caveats
- Billed monthly/annually by GPU time, not per image — the Basic plan gives only about 3.3 hours (200 minutes) of Fast GPU time a month; beyond that you either queue in Relax mode or buy more at $4/hour
- Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled in account settings; companies with over $1M USD annual revenue must be on the Pro or Mega plan to use the output commercially
Using it without writing code
Use the web app at midjourney.com, or message the official bot in Discord — subscribe and generate directly, no code required. There is no official public API.
