Monday 9am, I open Notion favorites — 217 prompts sitting there, never touched

3 months, not once used. Honestly, I got stuck too — kept thinking "I'll dig into it when I'm free," and I never got free. Then it clicked: the prompts weren't useless, I'd been treating them like collectibles.

If you're the same, this one's for you. Not to learn something new, but to actually use what you already know.

There's a free daily newsletter giving you one "usable today" prompt

The Neuron sends a daily email called "AI Skill of the Day." Their first-half-of-June roundup has 13 of the most practical ones — covering copywriting, spreadsheets, auto-replying to clients. Each one tells you clearly: feed it to ChatGPT or Claude, what to paste, what the output looks like.

I know a freelance illustrator called Lin Jie ("Sister Lin," 林姐) in Hangzhou who started doing brand packaging last year. She told me she's been subscribed since November, scans it every morning over coffee, and drops whatever she can use straight into ChatGPT. She said just the "write a confirmation email to a client" prompt saves her 4 hours a week.

Then there's Lao Zhou (老周), an independent consultant in Chengdu running Xiaohongshu coaching. He'd hoarded 80+ prompts, too anxious to even open them. Then he made a rule: pick 1 per day, use it at work for 5 minutes, delete it if it's not useful. Two weeks later, he was actually getting work done with these prompts.

What does it cost to copy this habit today?

  • Money: Free version is enough; paid is $7/month (~50 RMB), but you can read the web version without subscribing
  • Time: 10 min reading + 5 min trying per day, full cycle in two weeks
  • Technical bar: copy-paste is all you need. Just three steps: "copy text → paste into ChatGPT → send"
  • First step: Open browser, search "The Neuron AI," go to the site, find the "Subscribe" button top right, enter your email

One heads-up: if you're still on ChatGPT free tier, some prompts will be weaker — but free tier still works, won't break anything.

How to use this newsletter at different stages

If you're just starting (0 clients, still testing direction): Don't subscribe to paid. Use the free email signup, pick 1-2 prompts per week related to "writing a self-intro" or "finding client pain points," paste into ChatGPT. Don't like the output? Toss it, no pressure.

If you have 1-2 stable clients: Focus on prompts like "auto-write emails," "summarize meeting notes," "turn client voice memos into todos" — these save time immediately. I'd recommend paid, more examples.

If you're scaling (team of 2-5): Pick 3-5 prompts from the newsletter, send one to each team member, let them try for a week, then meet to discuss which ones actually helped. Don't make the whole team learn the same one — let everyone pick their own.

Last thing: this tool isn't for everyone. If you're already smooth with ChatGPT and producing daily, don't sweat subscribing or not. We don't panic-subscribe — we only subscribe to what's actually useful.
